  1. New Feature -Archiving. (Restore Window).
    This feature is aimed to: Protect files and directories from unexpected/unauthorized changes in the backup source; Reduce backup scanning time; Free the BOS license utilization to protect more changing "Live" files; Comply with SOX 404.
    * Move selected item to Archive repository (AE - \B\A\)
    * Move corresponding Indexes to Archive repository
    * Delete corresponding Histories
    * Sign Item as Archived
    * Reduce item size from license utilization

MonitorService.exe

  1. DiskAlive module was changed in order to scan each day in the event log from 00:00:00 to 23:59:59
  2. Monitor service now opens a directory with the required log whenever requesting any type of log from the monitor service – requires running explorer.exe instance. – changed in order to prevent a potential security hole.
  3. Monitor Service icons were changed – It now shows the status of the last log in the tray icon.
  4. DiskAlive module was changed in order to start working only after the service is completely started, in order to allow the service a faster start.
  5. Monitor Service system interaction function was significantly enhanced.
  6. Bug Fixed – When running a session with inner session, after the first one has finished, the monitor icon switched back to Idle, ignoring the activity of other inner sessions.
  7. Bug Fixed - Tray Icon was changing back to Idle after manual session execution even if it was set to Pause.
  8. Monitor service now brings both CSV and Log files when pressing "View Last Log"
  9. Enterprise Manager – Mouse scroll was changed from Page Down to 3 lines in Logs tab.
  10. Diskalive – Event Log module was modified to overcome unexpected errors during event log processing.

Bos.exe

  1. BOS maintenance session now deletes remaining files of Outlook Shadow session (if any).
  2. Backup unit was modified in order to support new features. (Deleted files and Archiving handling.)
  3. Default excludes are now loaded if missing in the session file.
  4. Log module was modified in order to support the archiving feature.
  5. Daily Summary Log now writes the total summary to the summery file.
  6. Bug Fixed – Bug found when using a removable drive, in some cases BOS did not recognize that the drive was disconnected and reported error on all the files instead of skipping the backup session.
  7. Bug Fixed – Some default values where initialized incorrectly if missing in the session file (rare).
  8. Bug fixed – Inner session execution module was modified. (Bos occasionally continued after executing inner session without waiting for them to finish).
  9. Unfinished session's flag file processing was enhanced.

Chief Disk Duplicator

  1. New Feature - ChiefDD.exe returns ERRORLEVEL:
    * 200 – Invalid parameter usage.
    * 201 – Error occurred during clone process.
    * 202 – Process aborted by user.
    * 203 – Unknown error occurred.
    * 204 – Process finished successfully (With warnings).
    * 205 – Process finished Successfully (No warnings).
  2. Help -> An About window was added to DDSetup.exe.
  3. DDSetup automatically completes the CRC file field if blank.
  4. Disk-size query function was modified.

Outlook Shadow

  1. New Feature – It is now possible to Add/Remove the outlook add-in using "Tools -> Shadow Monitor -> Install/Uninstall"
  2. Default filter handling was modified (Now reads the same list in any occurrence in the code).
  3. MGP filter was changed to MPG.
  4. Bug Fixed – Attachment filter procedure was fixed – in some cases it reported a wrong item size.

Outlook Shadow – RunBackup.exe

  1. New feature – Outlook Shadow supports splitting restored items to new PST's according to item's path in Outlook.

General Changes

  1. BOS inner messaging system security was enhanced in order to prevent potential security holes.
  2. Two options were added to the Advanced Settings dialog in the installation (Checked by default):
    * Install BOS Context menu.
    * Install Outlook Shadow Tray Icon.
  3. New module "Unicopy.exe" which handles a new feature: "Advanced Backup Module"

BosConfig.exe

  1. Bug found in the procedure that handles deletion of files, directory and their relevant histories from the backup directory. – Fixed
  2. Storage sizes are now displayed according to selected backup drive and according to extensions that are configured in the program
  3. Trying to extend a directory (Extension Manager) to a non local directory caused an exception and crashed the program – Fixed.
  4. DiskAlive form was removed from BosConfig. Pressing this option in the menu pops up the relevant window from MonitorService.

Bos.exe

  1. Bug found in the procedure that handles deleted files when the Disable Deleted flag is on. – Fixed. (Deletes It's histories entries, subtracts total values and deletes it's entry in the database)
  2. DB Update procedure was changed in order to calculate sizes properly after a backup session.
  3. Storage sizes are now displayed according to selected backup drive and to extensions that are configured in the program.
  4. When extensions are found, a detailed "drives usage" list is written to the log.
  5. Backup Drive was added to the log.
  6. Summary log in Delete Session is now saved to the general log directory and appears in the log list.
  7. Added support to the new DiskAlive module in MonitorService (displays the information in the logs)
  8. Displays DiskAlive event date in the log.

MonitorService.exe

  1. 1. DiskAlive module was rewritten.
  2. 2. Storage sizes are now displayed according to selected backup drive and to extensions that are configured in the program.
  3. The components messages procedure was improved.
  4. DiskAlive module was slightly changed – removes old irrelevant disk records from the list.
  5. MonitorService was changed in order to handle external application messages.
  6. DiskAlive module – Devices are now displayed with their mapped drive letters.
  7. Event information now contains date as well.

RunBackup.exe (Outlook Shadow)

  1. Save archive of error log (errlog.log) if it exceeds 1MB and start a new one. (Archive log is overwritten every time)
  2. Sizes are now shown according to their relevant type (KB, MB, GB, TB)
  3. Writing big size values to the log caused the logging module to crash – Fixed.

OutlookOptions.exe (Outlook Shadow)

  1. Bug found in displaying outlook folders when selecting items for backup – Fixed.
  2. Sizes are now shown according the their relevant type (KB, MB, GB, TB)

BosOutlookAddin (Outlook Shadow)

  1. Bug found When closing outlook with no profile files in the profile directory the Outlook Shadow Service refused to quit and caused Outlook to hang. - Fixed

General Changes

  1. DiskAlive event list was updated to include more system events. (CheckEventLog.bos)
  2. A global function was written in order to find MonitorService window whenever it is required to send it a message. (Replaced all occurrences of this action in the code)

General Warning! - Due to File System incompatibility between NTFS and FAT/FAT32 Time stamp reporting, it is highly probable that files with identical Time stamps will appear with different Time stamps after Time Zone changes.

DDSetup.exe

1. Bug fixed (Incorrect size was displayed when selecting files bigger then 4GB).

BosConfig.exe

1. Backup drive information fields were added to the Options window.
2. File system field was added to "Select Backup Drive" window.
3. "Advanced" button and window removed from backup item options.
4. Warning message when selecting backup drives that do not use NTFS file system.
5. Bug fixed in "Options" window (SMTP password was incorrectly loaded and saved every time)

1. Retry Backup procedure changed – Every problematic file is inserted to a list related to its owner (the specific parent item). After the backup session ends processing the declared items it then runs again on all the problematic ones, using the definition of their parent items. This way the files are treated as groups and being processed with the right item definitions. Also, every group is written to the log as: * Retry Backup (Item Name).
2. UpdateTrackLog procedure was changed and error message moved to Event Viewer so that if an error does occur it doesn't block the backup process.
3. BosDelete session now deleted old Remote Temp Log directories created by Enterprise Manager. (Only if the directory is older then one hour).
4. Retry Backup wasn't parsing the target directory right – Fixed.
5. Run Process after backup was ignoring user error condition. (OnError)

Outlook Shadow

1. Updated Redemption version to 4.1.0.507

MonitorService

3. Instead of directly opening the log file when required, Enterprise manager retrieves the logs and saves them in a temp directory, then displaying the directory to the user in order to prevent security exploits. (Every program that executes from the service runs under a System account)

QuickRestore.exe

1. Added UNC path conversion to QuickRestore (If trying to restore from a mapped drive)

ChiefDD.exe

1. Two fields were added to the details display: "Percentage" and "Time Remaining"
2. Fixed a bug in ChiefDD: the clone process was skipping a block without writing BAD_SECTOR to the new file.

DBManager

1. Sort the history list when rebuilding the DB.

Outlook Shadow

1. Before restore of each directory, the process creates a list of items in order to ignore duplications according to the index file. If there's no update index file, the process ignores the list and restores whatever is in the directory.
2. Removed the button from Outlook. The Addin just loads the schedule icon to the tray now. (Caused errors in the clipboard)
