From the customer's angle, the data recovery process comprises two main stages: the diagnosis of the damage, and the data recovery work.

1. Diagnostic phase To diagnose the condition of the data and the media, a thorough laboratory examination is required. This examination, depending of the complexity of the case, could take from a few minutes up to a few days. The regular diagnosis at medium workload is usually completed in up to 3 workdays. Sometimes it is possible to accelerate this phase by rescheduling the daily work queue in favor of the more urgent jobs. The diagnosis is based on the media examination and on the information supplied by the customer. Diagnostic results include: · (Optional) Statement of the need to open or disassemble the media in order to complete the diagnosis or reach the data. · (Optional) Explanation of the fault's cause, and its consequences on the stored data. · Estimation of the success probabilities to restore the required data. · Estimation of the time required to perform the data restoration. · Price quotation for the restoration job.
2. Data Restoration and delivery. · Any data / file / directory / database / media recovery will be performed only on receipt of the customer's explicit service order.
· The recovery could require a number of different logical and / or physical actions and processes in order to gain access to the data and restore it to a readable format. · Among the mentioned actions or processes, the irreversible opening or disassembling of the phyisical media could be necessary, rending the media itself no longer usable or returnable for reimbursment within the vendor's guarantee period. · All the actions and processes of media and data handling are performed by state of the art techniques, using sanitized instruments and/or specially in-house developed hardware and software tools and systems, and in the appropriate physical environment for each and every case. · The result of the recovery phase is accessible data, which is delivered to the customer (depending on its volume) on optic media or on an alternative hard drive. This hard drive can be supplied by the customer or by Chief.
