Schedule
|
In the main scheduling window, you can see all scheduled jobs and add, edit or delete jobs.
This window has two sections: The schedule editor (upper part) and the jobs list (5).
Schedule Editor
In this section you select a session name (1), the days of the week or month (2) you would like it to run and the timing types you want BOS to perform for this job. |
 |
Schedule Types (3), (4)
There are 3 basic types of timing in BOS.
- Run only once - BOS will run this job only one time, as defined, and will delete this scheduling from the schedule list. This method is good for one time backup tasks, such as first time backups of big storages - when you want it to run for its first time at night, and only then you'll add it to a regular scheduling cycle. This method is also good for testing sessions.
- Once a day - The job will run only one time in a single day. See more details about 'Stop time' on 'Advanced Use' chapter.
- Every - This is the most common type and one of BOS's big advantages.
Here you set a start time (hh:mm) and end time, and a time interval (Run Every: hh:mm). BOS will start running this job at the start time, and will repeat the job every hh:mm time, according to the time interval, until the end time in the setting.
Once you click 'Add / Update' button - the job is set and on-line.
The 'BOS Monitor Service' will be updated within a minute and will show the next session on the queue.
Jobs Scheduled List (5)
This list indicates all scheduling - session's name, timing definition and the next time it will run.
A session can appear several times, so you can set a session to a different timing types according to your needs.
A mouse right-click on the jobs' list opens the following menu:
- Delete job - Delete the selected job.
- Edit job - Also double-clicking the job. The edit section will show the job's parameters, and the 'Add' button will be 'Update' button. Any changes will overwrite previous settings.
- Add a job - Reset the window.
- Select all - Select all jobs.
- Pause - Pause a selected job. A strikethrough line will appear on the job. BOS will skip this job queue. Click 'Pause' again to release the job.
