License

 

BOS pricing is based on the total backup size it manages - The 'Backup' folder contents' size.

This method frees customer from the need of counting workstations, purchasing special features, buying software upgrades, etc.

 

For each fresh software installation, a new license is required. Installing BOS over a previous BOS installation preserves the license and its validation.

When first installing BOS, every customer is using a freeware license of 100Mb backup volume. When the decision  has been taken to enlarge the backup size - take the following steps:

  1. Contact CHIEF Applications Ltd or any authorized distributor / reseller for purchasing information (see contact information at http://www.bos.co.il).
  2. Fill up and send the 'Registration Request' with your most accurate details.
  3. Enter the 'Registration Key' you will receive back by email.

Registration

 

When upgrading BOS from the freeware license, or from a purchased license to a bigger backup volume,  the 'Registration Request' form has to be filled.

The registration creates a special file which needs to be sent to registration@bos.co.il. In return, a 'key' file will be sent back. The key file will allow BOS to use the backup size purchased.

 

Open the BOS application, click the 'Help' menu and select 'Registration...', to open the 'Registration Request' form.

 

Fill up the fields in this form (please note the existence of compulsory  fields, marked with *). Then, there is a choice:

  1. Send - To send this form via e-mail directly from BOS (if the e-mail is properly configured).
  2. Save - To save the form as a file, and send it later. There will be a prompt to save the file.
  3. View - Open the request's information in a text viewer (Notepad). This text can then be saved to file or faxed to Chief..

 

Registration Key

 

After purchasing, a 'registration key' file will be sent to customer.

Open BOS application, select 'Help' on the menu, and click 'Enter registration key'. The operator will be prompt to open the registration file.

It is possible to alternatively click 'About' in the 'Help' menu or to click the hawk icon on left top of the screen.

 

 

The 'About' screen contains the general details about the BOS application, and registration information.

Check this form after entering the registration key, to validate the requested license details.
