Schedule

In this section the operator defines the timing of each 'Session' saved before.

The are 3 basic timing types, and the 'Schedule Wizard' guides the operator through them.

This is the first screen of the 'Schedule' procedure..

If 'Schedule' or 'Save' have been chosen at the end of the 'Backup Wizard' (as described above), the next screen will appear.

This form shows all the schedules currently defined in BOS.

It contains the session names, timing, and the next time at which each of them will run.

Mouse right-click enables to delete, edit or pause a session.

Clicking the  'Add new job' or the 'Next' buttons will open the next screen:

This screen contains the list of all saved sessions.

To schedule any of them, select it and click 'Next'

Scheduling Types

There are 3 basic types of timing in BOS.

  • Run only once -BOS will run this job once -as defined- and will then delete this scheduling from the schedule list.
  • Once a day - The job will run only once in a single day.
  • By Interval - This is the most common type and represents BOS's prime advantage.
A start time (hh:mm) and end time are set here,
as well as a time interval (hh:mm).
BOS will start running this job at start time, and will repeat the job every hh:mm time, according to the time interval, until the end time in the setting.

More details about schedule's setting in the 'Schedule' help section.

In the following form the operator chooses the type of scheduling wanted for the selected session.

Each selection will open a suitable form to configure.

Run Only Once

When choosing 'Run only once', BOS only needs to know the designated time and day for the job to run.

There is a choice between selecting the days of the month (ciphers), or the day of the week (letters).

Click 'Save' to save this settings and exit.

Once A Day

The 'Once a day' schedule type requires, as in the previous form, the setting of  the time and day for running.

Note that the job will run only once at any selected day.

BOS will start the job at the appointed time.

See more details about this scheduling type and about the 'Do not run later than:' option in the 'Schedule' section.

By Interval

This is the form in which

-the days (similar to previous examples),

-the time-window of the daily cycle

-and the time interval,

are to be set.

The time window is the 'Start' and 'End' ('Do not run later than').

BOS will run this job within the selected time frame every 'hh:mm', according to the 'Run every' setting.

By this type of option BOS runs during the whole day and collects the new, changed and deleted files in the system.
