Backup
The following instructions are meant to assist the operator in creating a 'Session'.
'Session' means 'What to backup', and contains the folders and files desired to backup, and the
definition of preferences regarding them.
The use of 'Sessions' is mainly in 'Schedule', where the timing of each session is defined: 'When will a given session run'.
As many 'Sessions' as wanted can be defined and run according to needs.
 |
First you will see the 'Session's list'.
This window should be empty, when no sessions exist.
A new session can be created, existing sessions can be modified, deleted, scheduled or the backup process of a selected session can be immediately run. |
| By selecting 'New' (or 'Next'), the following screen (-=Untitled=- session name) will appear.
The first choice is a pre-defined configuration that automatically selects the current user's profile files, including the user's 'My Documents' folder, desktop folder and internet favorites.
The 'My Documents' files can be filtered, as shown in the 'Filter' screen.
Selecting the second option - 'I will select files...' will bring you to an explorer-like browser where you will select the files and folders you want to backup. |
 |
|
Filter
In this form the operator specifies whether to filter files for backup or not.
The filter needs to be saved with a name (-=Visual C=-, -=AB=- -=Office=- etc.), and contains a list of files masks: *.txt, *.doc, *.xls, etc.
The filter's groups and masks are fully customized groups, and their contents can be freely added, modified or deleted.
See more details in 'Filter' help. |

|
Explorer-Like Browser (For Backup)
This explorer-like browser is used to add files & folders to the backup list of the session (items). |
 |
Select the file(s) and/or folder(s) desired to backup, and click 'OK' to add the item(s) to the session's backup list.
The next screen will display all items selected for the session. |
|
The selected item(s) appear as text (path & file).
If an item is filtered - it will be marked by the filter's name (-=Office=-, for instance).
Mouse right-click allows here to edit, delete, sort or pause an item ('pause' is used to skip an item's backup without deleting it).
Edit an item will open the 'Item's Properties' form.
The 'Advanced Options' are the general options of the entire session. |
 |
