Enterprise
The mission of protecting the business continuity of a large enterprise including all its different parts and divisions, is one of the most complex missions in the modern era.

Many good backup products offer solutions to the common needs through means of growing quality, complexity,  assimilation and management difficulty, and of course increasing price from year to year.

When examining the point of failure of those solutions, those points of failure we usually encounter on daily basis at the data recovery lab, when backup or recovery processes did not succeed, we discover that most of those points of failure depend from the human factor.
Computer systems operators and system administrators in large and fragmented organizations, completely depend from such complicated business continuity systems that make impossible to completely know and dominate all their feature's details at every given point in time.

Through the years we have also learned that there does not exist any single backup solution capable of fully solving all the varied and changing enterprise's needs, and that in every enterprise always exist corporate niches with special and different or unique specific needs, which are not covered by the enterprise backup system.

Although we do not define the BOS system as a backup system, but as a business continuity system using backup processes as part of its data survival securing method, we find that in the great variety of those niche problems, BOS appropriately solves those unique needs in the best of the ways when compared to common backup systems.

In many large organizations BOS is used:

  • for the backup of the software engineering department every few minutes,
  • or as small department's central backup system that allows immediate self recovery, and is himself controlled and backed up by the corporate central backup system through the BOS Enterprise Manager capability,
  • and even for backing up the huge corporate storage system to the BOS system as long term data version archiving system.
  • Large enterprises use the BOS system to consolidate different data systems into one single homogeneous backup and restoring system, which considerably simplifies the corporate backup and recovery process. In several cases, data is even backed up from the BOS system to tapes by a regular backup software product.
  • Other organizations back up data and even entire Oracle and Exchange servers from the corporate storage into the corporate storage itself through BOS, only in order to benefit from the use of the BOS advanced version management capability
  • The advanced use of the recovery from Mail server's crash is one of the BOS system's features that are continuously growing for special uses. This unique solution that allows immediate business continuity even when the mail server is absolutely not functional, is today one of the fastest, most efficient and lowest priced solutions available.
